Hong Kong saw 102,458 visitors from the Chinese mainland on Saturday for the first time after normal travel between Hong Kong and the mainland fully resumed on Feb. 6, as the share of tourists continued to grow, official data showed Sunday.
With the increase of mainland visitors to Hong Kong, the streets of Hong Kong have gradually returned to the normal hustle and bustle. Many business districts and shops were crowded again. Shoppers were queuing in front of many shops and tourists dragging suitcases among shopping malls.
Visitors come to Hong Kong for tourism, shopping, recreation, business, etc. Most of the visitors have not come to Hong Kong for at least three years. Some visitors expressed their delight at the resumption of customs clearance between Hong Kong and the Mainland. They believed that this would have a positive impact on Hong Kong's economy.
