Chinese tourists celebrated the resumption of cross-border travel between China and Vietnam at the Friendship Pass in Pingxiang City, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Wednesday. Then, a tour guide led more than 120 Chinese tourists to Vietnam.
Pingxiang City is known as China's South Gate as it borders Vietnam. It is the most convenient land route between China and ASEAN.
Do Nam Trung, consul general of Vietnam in Nanning, capital of Guangxi, went to Friendship Pass to see off the Chinese tourists. He said that through traveling, China and Vietnam can increase understanding of each other, and also deepen friendship.
China resumed outbound group tours for Chinese citizens to another 40 countries including Nepal, Vietnam, and Brunei starting from Wednesday.
