(ECNS) -- Cinemas and performance venues gradually reopened in Shanghai from Friday. On Thursday evening, greeting words "Hello. Long Time No See" were displayed on the big screen to welcome the audicence at the entrance of a cinema in Shanghai Xintiandi shopping mall.

Many viewers waited in line for admission. The 2D film Jurassic World 3 in English hit the theaters on July 8.

Chen Yu, a Shanghai citizen, is a movie fan. She hasn't been to a cinema for about half a year. "The last time I watched a movie seemed to be in February. It's quite a long time ago. Jurassic World 3 is the first movie to be shown after the cinema's reopening. It's great to catch up with this special point,"she said excitedly.

According to relevant regulations on epidemic prevention and control, viewers need to scan the site code, show the negative result of their nucleic acid test sampled within 72 hours, and get their body temperature taken before being admitted. At the same time, the cinema does not provide drinks and food for the time being. And viewers are forbidden to bring drinks and food into the movie hall.

The cinema said contactless ticket vending machines and automatic temperature measuring robots are available for customers.

Some cinemas in Shanghai suspended their plan of resuming business on July 8 due to Covid prevention and control.
