China's Civil Aviation regulator has temporarily suspended issuing airworthiness certificates to Boeing 737 Max 8 since March 21, local media reported on Tuesday.

This decision was made due to the 737 Max 8 jet's alleged uncertainty in flight safety, according to the report.

Early this month, the Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max 8 had crashed and killed all 157 passengers and crew members.

At present, the accident investigation has not ruled out an aircraft design problem.

Boeing is making changes to the aircraft-related system. Considering the current uncertainty of the airworthiness of the aircraft, the decision was made to suspend the airworthiness certificate of the 737-8 aircraft from now on, the Civil Aviation Administration of China stated.

On March 11, the Civil Aviation Administration of China grounded all Chinese Boeing 737 Max 8 jets.
