China to implement zero tariffs on some COVID drug raw materials from 2023

(ECNS) -- Chinese Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council announced an adjustment on tariffs of some products on Wednesday, among which some raw materials of anti-COVID-19 drugs will be imposed zero tariff since Jan.1, 2023.

In order to mobilize the resources in markets at home and abroad, China will implement temporary import tax rate lower than most favored nation tariff rates for 1,020 product items starting from January 1, 2023.

Zero tariffs will be implemented for some anti-cancer drug raw materials, anti-COVID drug raw materials, and cancer pain drugs to alleviate patients' financial burden, the commission said.

Tariffs on raw materials of dentures, intravascular stent, contrast agent and other medical supplies will also be reduced.
