Chinese mainland reports 148 new local confirmed COVID-19 cases

(ECNS) -- The Chinese mainland reported 148 locally-transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases and 678 asymptomatic carriers on Wednesday, the National Health Commission said Thursday.

Of the 148 locally-transmitted cases,52 were in Guagnxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, 49 in Gansu, 18 in Guangdong, 16 in Sichuan, seven in Anhui, three in Shanghai, two in Jiangxi and one in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.  

There were also 52 imported cases reported on the same day.

Following the recovery of 69 COVID-19 patients who were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday, there were 1,615 confirmed COVID-19 cases receiving treatment in hospitals across the Chinese mainland.
