Maerdang Hydropower Station under construction in Qinghai(1/8)

Located at 5,000 meters of the upper reaches of the Yellow River, the Maerdang Hydropower Station is the largest hydropower station with the highest altitude. The station has a total installed capacity of 2.2 million kilowatts. Once fully operational, It will generate an average of more than 7.304 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity every year, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 8.16 million tons. It is expected to put into operation in March 2024.
