President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the first sustainable development forum in Beijing, which opened on Thursday.

The forum, co-organized by the Development Research Center of the State Council, Beijing's municipal government and United Nations organizations, aims to explore the actions and experiences of parties in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Xi said in the letter that China has adopted the vision of innovative, coordinated, green and open development that is for everyone, boosted its economy for high-quality development and fully implemented the agenda.

China has also made vigorous efforts to advance South-South cooperation, align the Belt and Road Initiative with the agenda and contribute energetically to the worldwide achievements of the sustainable development goals, Xi said.

China hopes all related parties will actively explore sound solutions to the implementation of the agenda, pursue common development and jointly build the world into a community with a shared future for mankind, he said.
