An armed suspect was shot and killed Monday morning by police in Houston, U.S. state of Texas, according to the local police.
According to tweeted messages by Houston Police Department (HPD) and Chief of HPD Art Acevedo, the armed suspect was shot by a Houston police officer and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect was shot outside an elementary school, about 25 km southwest of downtown Houston.
According to HPD, preliminary information showed that "a police officer discharged a weapon and shot a suspect armed with a gun." The school was under lockdown and safe, and no officer was injured.
