The Polish Civil Aviation Office decided on Tuesday to the Polish air space to Boeing 737 Max 8, after an airplane of this type crashed on Sunday in Ethiopia, killing all 157 people on board.

The move was following guidance from the European Aviation Safety Agency which decided to ground all Boeing 737 Max flights in Europe (that includes Boeing 737 Max 8 and Boeing 737 Max 9).

A spokesperson for the Polish national carrier LOT also declared on Tuesday that for the moment the company was suspending flights it operates with this type of airplane, and that it was gradually replacing the Boeing 737 Max 8 with other airplanes on the routes the Boeing is currently used.

On Monday, LOT had announced it would keep flying the Boeing 737 Max 8 in absence of guidance from airport safety bodies.

An increasing number of countries have announced to ground the Boeing airplanes, including the UK, Germany, Australia, China, Brazil and Argentina.

Two Polish citizens died in the Sunday crash in Ethiopia.
