(ECNS) -- Heilongjiang Province's total goods trade reached 232.01 billion yuan (about $32.3 billion) in the first eight months of 2026, up 11.1% year on year, according to data released by Harbin Customs. Exports rose 21.7% to 71.73 billion yuan, while imports increased 6.9 percent to 160.28 billion yuan.
General trade remained the dominant trade mode, accounting for 86.5% of the province's total trade volume. Border small-scale trade grew 17.4%, while bonded logistics surged 93.3 percent, reflecting growing cross-border economic activity.
Private and foreign-invested enterprises posted strong growth. Trade by private enterprises jumped 31.2% to 97.35 billion yuan, while foreign-invested enterprises recorded a 27.5% increase to 7.05 billion yuan. Trade by state-owned enterprises totaled 126.47 billion yuan.
Meanwhile, trade with the other 10 BRICS member states hit 189.36 billion yuan, rising 11.9%. Exports reached 40.52 billion yuan, up 29.6%, and imports 148.84 billion yuan, up 7.9%.
Exports of mechanical and electrical products, labor-intensive goods and agricultural products all registered growth, while imports of bulk commodities rose 6.6 percent, driven by increased purchases of energy products, metal ores and grain.
