(ECNS) -- Beijing recorded 8.783 million tourist visits during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from Sept. 25 to 27, generating 11.54 billion yuan ($1.72 billion) in tourism spending, according to the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism.
The city also recorded 83,000 inbound tourist visits, with inbound tourism spending reaching 780 million yuan.
Popular destinations included Beijing Olympic Park, Wangfujing pedestrian street, Xidan area, and the Tian’anmen Square, while Mid-Autumn-themed cultural activities and night tours drew visitors across the city.
Beijing staged 951 commercial performances during the holiday, attracting about 390,000 spectators and generating around 170 million yuan in box office revenue.
