(ECNS)--Extreme cold and oxygen-thin air, with wind and snow as their constant companions, located at an altitude of 4,868 meters, this is the highest permanent duty post on the Qinghai-Xizang Railway. Since 2006, when the entire Qinghai-Xizang Railway was put into operation, batches of service members arrived here, watching over the tunnel and safeguarding the trains that journey through the snow-covered mountains.
