The year 2025 was marked by turbulence and compounded challenges. As it draws to a close, China News Network’s “W.E. Talk” program invited Chinese and U.S. experts to review the key moments and profound shifts that have shaped the international landscape over the past year.
In the interview, Cui Hongjian, professor of the Academy of Regional and Global Governance at Beijing Foreign Studies University, said that in the face of a complex and ever-changing international landscape, China has played an important role in maintaining world peace and stability. It has not only resolutely curbed the risk of a resurgence of militarism but also rallied broader forces to prevent a few countries from pursuing adventurist policies that could destabilize regions.
Robert Lawrence Kuhn, chairman of the Kuhn Foundation and a renowned expert on Chinese affairs, noted that the continuity of China’s policies and its strategic stability have provided the international community with confidence for cooperation and development in a complex environment. Furthermore, as the international community collectively faces rising nationalism and complex geopolitical competition, China’s rise has become a stabilizing force in a turbulent and uncertain world.
