Southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region has seen a rapid rise in the per-capita disposable income of residents, said a white paper issued by China's State Council Information Office Friday.
The per-capita disposable income of the region's urban and rural residents as a whole rose to 26,675 yuan (about 3,715 U.S. dollars) in 2022 from 8,568 yuan in 2012, representing the country's highest growth rate for eight consecutive years since 2015, according to the white paper titled "CPC Policies on the Governance of Xizang in the New Era: Approach and Achievements."
The income ratio between urban and rural residents dropped from 3.22 in 2012 to 2.67 in 2022, narrowing the income gap, the white paper said.
