(ECNS) -- The Chinese Embassy in the Netherlands on Thursday rejected a report released by Dutch security authorities reiterating claims that Chinese hackers will increase cyberattacks against the Netherlands by exploiting edge devices.
The China-related content of the report is replete with falsehoods and groundless accusations, said a spokesperson for the embassy. "China expresses strong dissatisfaction with and firm opposition to this."
China has been a major victim of cyberattacks and has always firmly opposed and cracked down on all forms of malicious cyber activity in accordance with the law. Cybersecurity is a common challenge facing all countries now, the spokesperson noted.
"We maintain that all countries should strengthen international cooperation on the basis of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, and jointly address cybersecurity challenges through dialogue," the spokesperson said.
China urges the relevant authorities in the Netherlands to take an objective and rational view of China's efforts to combat cyberattacks and to stop making groundless accusations against China under the pretext of cybersecurity, the spokesperson added.
