(ECNS) — A gold ring lost by a tourist in shifting sand at a tourist attraction in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region during China's recent National Day holiday was eventually found after an emergency response team spent four hours searching for it, the scenic area said.

The tourist was visiting Xiangshawan, which translates as "Whistling Dune Bay", in the Kubuqi Desert in the region on Oct. 4, when the ring slipped into the sand and disappeared.

The scenic area's emergency response team used two metal detectors to search the area and recovered the ring. The scenic area said on Tuesday that the emergency team had contacted the visitor and mailed the ring back.

The scenic area established an eight-member emergency response team this year, with duties including rescue operations, lost-and-found services and emergency first aid, it said.

The team has so far helped visitors recover more than 1,800 lost mobile phones, the scenic area said.
