(ECNS) -- The coast guard of east China's Fujian Province have been conducting routine law enforcement patrols in waters near Kinmen since September, a spokesperson with the China Coast Guard said Tuesday.
Zhu Anqing, spokesperson for the East China Sea Bureau of the China Coast Guard, said the patrols are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen law enforcement and maritime management in the relevant waters.
The patrols aim to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of fishermen on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, protect lives and property, and ensure normal navigation and fishing operations in the Xiamen-Kinmen waters, Zhu said.
