(ECNS) -- Six key green industry projects were signed on Wednesday in Tianjin under the China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Green Industry Development Cooperation Zone, which had a combined value of more than 2.9 billion yuan (about $400 million).
The agreements were signed during an event focused on sharing experience and showcasing achievements in China-SCO green industry cooperation.
The event brought together more than 500 representatives from over 240 industry associations, universities, research institutes and companies.
Aimed at connecting government, industry, academia, research institutions, financial organizations and other sectors to promote green industry cooperation among SCO member states, the event also saw the signing of a framework agreement to strengthen coordination among China-SCO cooperation platforms and centers.
Nine reports on green industry development in SCO member states were released, while an information network for China-SCO green industry cooperation was also launched.
The Ziya Economic and Technological Development Zone in Tianjin, which hosts the China-SCO Green Industry Development Cooperation Zone, is transitioning from raw material processing toward advanced manufacturing. It will also deepen cooperation with SCO countries in areas including recyclable resources, standards, trade and industrial development.
