Robot dogs, power bots take center stage at 2026 Global Industrial Internet Conference

(ECNS) -- The 2026 Global Industrial Internet Conference opened in Shenyang, northeast China's Liaoning Province, on Wednesday, showcasing a range of advanced intelligent equipment and technologies.

In the exhibition area, a robot dog named "Lingxi" interacted with visitors by shaking hands, performing playful movements and autonomously following them. A staff member from China Mobile's Liaoning branch said Lingxi can carry out home patrols, monitor abnormalities, support educational interactions and provide remote video intercom services, enabling device-network-cloud collaboration and bringing AI capabilities into everyday home life.

Nearby, a power robot designed for indoor distribution rooms and substations attracted attention for its integrated operation and maintenance capabilities. Zhang Jiachun, a technician at the event, said the robot acts as an intelligent duty officer, enabling unattended operations while improving the intelligence and safety of power facilities.

At the booth of China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), a digital human named "Xiaokun" provided voice-based services to visitors. By speaking to a vertical display, users can check information on fuel products, convenience store items, travel guides and weather, or complete license plate check-ins. The application represents an innovative step in CNPC's development of smart gas stations, shifting from conventional display screens to interactive intelligent services.

The conference brought together representatives from government, business, academia, research institutions and industry. Xie Yuansheng, vice minister of industry and information technology, said the ministry will further advance the industrial internet innovation and development project, strengthen integrated planning, promote digital and intelligent empowerment, encourage scenario-driven and open-source development, build a solid digital foundation for "AI plus manufacturing," and support Liaoning in becoming a national hub for industrial internet innovation.

The conference will also feature a number of major forums and international exchange activities, creating a comprehensive dialogue platform linking technology, industry, capital and industrial ecosystems.
