Hunan cuisine Chef Fei opens first overseas restaurant in California

(ECNS) -- Chef Fei, a popular Chinese restaurant chain specializing in Hunan cuisine, opened its first overseas outlet recently in San Diego, California, marking its debut in the U.S. market.

The restaurant quickly drew crowds during its trial operation. Brand representative Lu Wenwei said all reservations for September were fully booked, with some diners driving two to three hours to sample signature dishes such as stirfried pork with chili and stirfried beef with chili. Queues outside stretched for about 100 meters, and peak waiting times exceeded 100 minutes.

"We hope to offer consumers around the world a different Chinese dining experience through authentic Chinese stir-fried dishes," Lu said.

According to public statistics, there are currently nearly 2,000 Hunan restaurants outside China, spanning more than 60 countries and regions.
