(ECNS) -- Ningxia has expanded exports of high-quality live cattle to Uzbekistan amid growing economic and trade cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, according to Yinchuan Customs on Tuesday.
With well-developed large-scale breeding systems, Ningxia raises fast-growing and highly adaptable Simmental beef cattle, as well as high-yield Holstein dairy cows, helping meet Uzbekistan's strong demand for quality breeding stock.
Since Holstein dairy cows first entered the Uzbek market in November 2025, Ningxia has continued to diversify its live-cattle exports. In 2026, the region exported Simmental beef cattle to Uzbekistan for the first time. A total of 3,304 head of cattle have been exported so far this year, while the number of enterprises interested in the trade has risen from one to 13, making live-cattle exports a new growth driver for Ningxia's foreign trade.
Authorities including Yinchuan Customs have coordinated efforts to strengthen quality control and ensure that exports meet Uzbekistan's quarantine and market-access requirements.
The growing live-cattle trade with Central Asia is one example of Ningxia's specialty products gaining greater recognition overseas. Other local products, including goji berries and dairy products, have also been well received in international markets.
