(ECNS) -- Mixed-load public-block trains on the southern route of the China-Europe Railway Express (Chengdu) are now operating regularly, with three to four departures per month, according to Chengdu International Railway Port on Monday.

Leaving China via Khorgos Port in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the train travels across Kazakhstan and the Caspian Sea before reaching Poti and Tbilisi in Georgia.

The service also connects with several other Eurasian cities, including Baku in Azerbaijan and Izmir in Türkiye.

Chengdu International Railway Port has developed a logistics network combining trans-Caspian and trans-Black Sea rail-sea intermodal transport with all-rail services.

In April this year, the port launched a return service from Izmir, Türkiye, establishing two-way freight connectivity along the route.
