(ECNS) -- Typhoon Saudel made two landfalls in east China’s Zhejiang Province on Friday, bringing winds of up to level 12 and heavy rainfall, with its impacts expected to extend inland.

It is the third strong typhoon to strike Zhejiang this year, following Bavi and Dolphin.

Authorities raised the province’s emergency response to the highest level Thursday night as the storm approached.

Heavy rain and strong winds continued along the southeastern coast, with the heaviest rainfall forecast in Zhejiang and neighboring Fujian before the storm moves further inland.

Nearly 50 vehicles and 260 personnel have been deployed for emergency response, while monitoring systems and drones are tracking the storm and potential risks.
