China remains EU's top goods supplier in Q2

(ECNS) -- China was the European Union’s largest source of goods imports in the second quarter of 2026, accounting for 21.9% of the total, while the United States ranked second with a 14.1% share, Eurostat said Wednesday.

The EU imported 153.6 billion euros worth of goods from China during the quarter, up 7.9% from a year earlier. Imports from the United States reached 98.7 billion euros, up 11.5%. Overall, the EU imported 701.8 billion euros worth of goods from nonEU countries, up 11.7%.

On the export side, the United States was the EU’s largest market, receiving 127.7 billion euros worth of goods, or 18.8% of the total. EU exports to China reached 50.3 billion euros, accounting for 7.4%.

Exports to China rose 2.8% year on year, while those to the United States fell 5.6%.
