(ECNS) -- China's domestically developed C919 large passenger jet made its first international commercial flight on Wednesday, with Air China's CA723 flight departing Beijing at around 3 p.m. for Ulaanbaatar, capital of Mongolia, according to Air China.
According to COMAC, as of Monday, C919 aircraft operated by Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines had opened 57 routes to 25 cities, safely carrying more than 7.5 million passengers.
The C919 is China's first domestically developed jetliner designed in accordance with internationally recognized airworthiness standards and featuring independently owned intellectual property rights. It completed its first commercial flight on May 28, 2023.
