(ECNS) -- Chinese companies are rapidly adopting DeepSeek artificial intelligence models, with more than 15 chip makers now supporting them, CCTV News reported.
At an AI computing chip development firm in Beijing, researchers said it took less than a week to integrate DeepSeek models into their chips. In contrast, connecting with other closed-source large models typically takes longer because it requires collaboration with model developers, said the company's leader.
The growing support for DeepSeek models suggests they will play a key role in China’s computing infrastructure after the training phase.
Beyond chip manufacturers, there has been a surge in demand for intelligent computing machines that support DeepSeek models.
In recent days, a number of mobile phone and automobile manufacturers have announced their adoption of DeepSeek models, which users can access via the internet.
China's three major telecom operators -- China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom -- have fully integrated DeepSeek models into their cloud services to further enhance the models’ performance, according to media reports.
Huawei also announced a partnership with AI infrastructure startup SiliconFlow to make DeepSeek models accessible through its Ascend cloud service. Additionally, technology companies like Lenovo, DingTalk, and Marketingforce have launched solutions based on DeepSeek’s large models.
Cao Zhennan, deputy director of China’s National High-Performance Computer Engineering Technology Research Center, said open-source models like DeepSeek, which are cost-effective, will drive rapid growth in application.
