(ECNS) -- China has introduced a new visa-free policy for tour groups from ASEAN countries visiting Xishuangbanna in southwestern Yunnan Province, according to the National Immigration Administration announced on Monday.
Under the policy, eligible tourists can stay for up to six days without needing a visa.

Tour groups of at least two people from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia can enter and exit visa-free via designated ports with ordinary passports if organized by Chinese travel agencies.
A National Immigration Administration official said the policy aims to further open up China to international visitors and supports Yunnan in becoming a hub for south Asia and southeast Asia. It is expected to boost tourism, strengthen China-ASEAN ties, and attract more foreign visitors and businesses to the region.
