(ECNS)--A bell-tolling ceremony marking the 93rd anniversary of the September 18th Incident was held at the September 18 Incident History Museum in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, on Wednesday.

Representatives from various sectors rang a bell 14 times together, symbolizing the arduous course of China's 14-year-long bitter war against Japanese aggressors.

At 9:18 a.m., air raid sirens were sounded simultaneously across the 14 cities of Liaoning Province. Major streets halted traffic, with cars, ships and trains honking horns at the same time.

The alarms served as a reminder for people to stay vigilant, remember the history, honor the martyrs, and cherish peace.

On Sept. 18, 1931, Japanese aggressors bombarded barracks near Shenyang, starting the bloody invasion.
