(ECNS) -- China recorded a total of 5.256 million cross-border trips during this year’s three-day Mid-Autumn Festival, according to the National Immigration Administration on Wednesday.
This marks a daily average of 1.752 million, an 18.6 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Chinese mainland residents accounted for 2.632 million entries and exits, up 15.1 percent year-on-year. Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents made 2.07 million , representing a 7.3 percent increase, while foreign nationals accounted for 554,000 , showing a significant increase of 62.2 percent.
In total, 242,000 vehicles, ships, and aircraft were inspected, a 37.6 percent increase from last year.
