A room suspected of use in feeding cobras without approval is closed by local police in Nanjing City, the capital of East China’s Jiangsu Province. About 200 cobras escaped from the farm over a month ago, with some 50 still remaining in the wild. Local authorities organized 100 people to search for the missing snakes in a five-kilometer radius area. Lu Changhu, a professor with Nanjing Forestry University, said the baby snakes can’t survive in sunlight and are unlikely to attack people in temperatures lower than 15 degrees centigrade.
