Cobras escaped from a farm in Nanjing City, the capital of East China’s Jiangsu Province. About 200 cobras escaped from the farm over a month ago, with some 50 still remaining in the wild. Local authorities organized 100 people to search for the missing snakes in a five-kilometer radius area. Lu Changhu, a professor with Nanjing Forestry University, said the baby snakes can’t survive in sunlight and are unlikely to attack people in temperatures lower than 15 degrees centigrade.
