Malaysia has participated in the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) since 2022 and is placing greater emphasis this year on promoting its tourism industry and Malaysian products through the platform, said Aaron Gan Chai Heng Consulate General of Malaysia in Shanghai (tourism), in an interview with China News Network at CIFTIS recently.

Aaron noted that 2026 marks the Malaysia Tourism Year, and the country hopes to further promote its tourism sector and showcase more Malaysian-made products through CIFTIS.

Since the end of 2023, China and Malaysia have implemented a mutual visa-free policy, allowing Chinese tourists to travel to Malaysia without applying for visas.

Aaron also said China has developed rapidly in recent years, particularly in the new energy vehicle sector. He noted that China has numerous new energy vehicle brands and that their technologies had left a deep impression on him.

China's advances in robotics technology have also impressed him. "Nowadays, we can see a lot of robots in China," he said, adding that these robots can be used not only in manufacturing, but also programmed to perform a wider range of tasks and potentially serve countries beyond China.

"We can see a much more vibrant China," he said.
