(ECNS) -- The U.S. has further expanded its UFLPA Entity List, adding well-known Chinese consumer brands such as ChaCha Food and Synear Dumplings to the restricted list.
In the latest News Lounge of China News Network, U.S. scholar Josef Gregory Mahoney points out that this move by the U.S. side amounts to nothing short of political posturing and economic coercion.
In his opinion, the so-called "human rights concerns" are merely a political fig leaf for the U.S. to shift its domestic governance crises, bridge political divisions and serve electoral interests.
In Mahoney's view, if the United States can address its deep-seated structural inequities, China and the U.S. can move forward together toward a better shared future for humanity.
