Shanghai railway sees record passenger volume

China Railway Shanghai Group was expected to send 475,000 passengers on Thursday, the most in a single day since the Spring Festival travel rush began.

At Shanghai Station, one of the major transport centers in East China, 132,000 passengers were recorded to travel via rail on Thursday. Shanghai South Railway Station processed about 42,000 passengers and Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station sent about 301,000 passengers on the same day.
