(ECNS) -- The fourth batch of mainland-aided community isolation facilities were delivered for operation in Fanling, New Territories (N.T.), Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) on Sunday.

The N.T.-based isolation program covers around 20,000 square meters, with a construction area of nearly 7,400 square meters.

Over 350 isolation rooms with more than 1,000 beds would be provided after delivery, to help the HKSAR government fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 17-day construction was completed Friday, and passed acceptance test the second day,

The isolation houses are all equipped with necessary furniture, and bed linings, smoke detectors, fire distinguishers, and others for necessary use.

Six out of the nine mainland-aided isolation facilities would come in service this March, providing around 20,000 beds.

Isolation facilities in Tsing Yi, San Tin, Fanling and Artificial Island at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port have already been delivered.

New progress will be seen in the SAR's Hung Shui Kiu and Ngau Tam Mei at Yuen Long later this month.
