(ECNS) -- Two small yellow springs have been discovered in Xiaoya Lake in Mangya City, Qinghai Province.
The yellow water was surrounded by white salt and alkali soil, making the springs look like two freshly poached eggs.
The formation of yellow-and-white alkaline spring is the result of the fusion of rising underground fresh water and saline-alkali surface in spring and summer.
According to the local bureau, there are over 1,000 natural springs around the Gaskule Lake in Mangya City, mainly in azure, dark blue, white or muddy yellow, but well-developed golden yellow spring is rare.
