(ECNS) -- Zhao Qiushi, an artist in Changchun, Jilin Province, is skilled at carving Chinese classic poems into tiny pieces of jade.

He carved a Mao Zedong poem on a piece of jade little bigger than his finger on Wednesday.

Born in 1972, Zhao graduated from Northeast Normal University with a major in fine arts. In 2009, he came across micro-engraving, and was impressed by its exquisite craftsmanship.

To date he has created thousands of micro-engraved works.

Jade and teapots are his frequently used carving materials.

Carving hundreds of Chinese characters on a tiny bit of jade is a piece of cake for him.

He has carved thousands of Chinese characters on a teapot.

Zhao has taught foreign visitors how to carve in their native languages.
