(ECNS) -- A local resident in Jinghong City, Yunnan Province found this little one with an injured wing on the roadside and sent it to the forestry police.

Experts finally identified the bird as Phodilus Badius, commonly known as the "eagle-faced owl".

It's a bird under Grade 2 protection in China.

The police will release it into the wild after it recovers from the injury.
