In advance of the 2025 Chengdu World Games officially getting underway on Thursday night, the host city has launched a culture tour, inviting international athletes and other event-connected personnel to step outside the Games Village and grab a taste of the host city's unique offerings.
The tour features seven routes that will take participants to a total of 17 signature sites – including the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Dujiangyan Irrigation System, and Mount Qingcheng – further showcasing Chengdu's status as a park city to the world.
More than 100 athletes made the trip to the research base to take a look at China's national treasure, giant pandas, from close range. Moreover, various souvenirs and cultural products featuring the beloved animal drew the attention of the visitors.
The tour will run until August 18, one day after the conclusion of the World Games.
