To promote green travel, Jakarta holds weekly Car-Free Day events every Sunday from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., closing about 8 kilometers of major downtown roads to private vehicles. Only public buses are allowed, enabling pedestrians and cyclists to enjoy the space.
