One person was confirmed dead after a bus plunged into the Yangtze River Sunday morning from a bridge in Chongqing Municipality, local authorities said.
According to the local traffic police, the No. 22 bus crashed with a car before it plunged into the Yangtze River, China's longest river, at around 10 a.m. Sunday in Chongqing's Wanzhou District.
The number of passengers on the bus is not immediately known. Rescue work is under way.
