The Wellington College Bilingual Shanghai Early Years Center will provide a bilingual curriculum for children between the ages of 2-6 years.
Its next phase in 2018 will extend the center to a school designed for children between 2 to 15 years.
“The center is expected to enables more international and Chinese families to have various and excellent choices in early-years education in the area,” said Tao Jianwen, general manager of Shanghai New Bund International Business District Investment (Group) Co., Ltd., the developer of Qiantan or New Bund area.
The center with annual tuition fee of about 200,000 yuan will ensure the children have a half and half exposure to Chinese and English.
The Pudong New Area government plans to develop the Qiantan Area into the city’s next financial center.
The high-end locality will also have a residential area for 25,000 residents, many of whom are expected to be foreigners.
