Google Cloud Chief Operating Officer Diane Bryant has left the company less than a year after she joined Google last November.

Google confirmed that Bryant quit Tuesday after she led the Internet giant's cloud business for seven months. Business Insider first reported the news of her departure earlier in the day.

Google said in a statement that it was "grateful for the contributions she made while at Google and we wish her the best in her next pursuit."

Before joining Google, Bryant had worked for 25 years at the world's chip giant Intel and oversaw its market-dominating data center business until May 2017.

Bryant's departure from Google came at a time when Intel is searching for a new chief executive officer (CEO) after former Intel CEO Brian Krzanich resigned in June for having an affair with the company's employee in violation of Intel's anti-fraternization policy.
