In consideration of UN's financial deficit, China on Friday urged all UN member countries to fulfill their financial obligations.

"As the second largest contributor of the United Nations, China has made full payment of its annual member fee," Geng Shuang, the spokesperson of Chinese Foreign Ministry, said on Friday during a regular press briefing. The spokesperson added that a sufficient and stable member fee was imperative to ensuring UN's operations.

"As the largest contributor, the U.S. has more than 1.05 billion U.S. dollars in arrears of UN member fee, which is 76 percent of all fees in arrears," Geng said, adding that member countries were obligated to pay member fees and should make contributions to address UN's financial crisis.
