China is holding a ceremony to confer national medals and honorary titles in the Great Hall of the People on Sunday.
Chinese President Xi Jinping will present the awards to 42 people for their outstanding contributions to the People's Republic of China.
Three medals will be bestowed – the Medal of the Republic, the Friendship Medal and the medal of national honorary titles.
Xi will deliver a speech at the ceremony.
