China and Japan will push ahead with cooperation in third-party market with over 50 agreements to be signed during Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's three-day visit in Beijing, according to He Lifeng, head of China's top economic planner - the National Development and Reform Commission.

The two sides will conduct cooperation in areas such as smart city construction, energy efficiency,  green projects, etc, and will explore other cooperation potentials, said He at the Third-Party Market Cooperation Forum held in Beijing on Friday morning.

He said third-party market includes Asian and Latin American countries where there are larger needs for infrastructure construction.

Such cooperation is conducive to the development of bilateral ties, and it's also a great platform for the two countries to learn from each other, said He.

It will strengthen the two countries' respective advantages based on mutual trust and benefit, and drive global recovery at the same time, which has been slow due to rising protectionism, he said.
