China calls on parliaments from Eurasian countries to boost mutual trust

China has called on parliaments from Eurasian countries to boost mutual trust so as to push forward pragmatic cooperation in all sectors among them.

Zhang Ping, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress (NPC), made the remarks here Tuesday at the 2nd conference of parliamentary leaders from Eurasian countries.

China has played an active role in promoting dialogue and cooperation in the Eurasian region in a bid to seek developement consensus from dialogue and explore ways for prosperity from cooperation, Zhang told the conference held here from Tuesday to Wednesday which attracted parliamentary leaders from 24 Asian and European countries.

Parliaments from all Eurasian countries should focus on the common pursuit of their peoples for peace and development, give full play to the advantage of legislation, boost mutual trust, bridge differences so as to push forward the pragmatic cooperation in the fields including economy and trade, investment, innovation, environment protection and people to people exchange, Zhang said.

China's NPC is willing to join hands with parliaments from Eurasian countries to facilitate and serve the building of the Belt and Road and the dovetail of development strategies of all the countries, Zhang added.

On Monday, Zhang met with National Assembly Speaker of South Korea Chung Sye-kyun ahead of the conference and the two exchanged views on issues of common concern.
