Togo attaches great importance to its relations with China and stands ready to enhance high-level exchanges between the two countries, said President Faure Gnassingbe.
The Togolese president made the remarks in a meeting with visiting senior Chinese legislator Ji Bingxuan, who is the vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC).
The president said Togo is willing to exchange experiences with China over state governance, and strengthen cooperation in agriculture, infrastructure, human resources and other areas.
The senior Chinese legislator hailed the traditional friendship between China and Togo with fruitful achievements in various fields.
Ji expressed China's willingness to work with Togo to implement the important consensus of the heads of state and outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation summit held in Johannesburg in 2015.
During his visit in Togo from May 18 to 21, the senior Chinese legislator also met with Drama Dramani, President of the National Assembly of Togo.
Ji told Dramani that the Chinese NPC is ready to enhance friendly exchanges with the Togolese parliament so as to push forward bilateral relations.
Dramani reciprocated by saying that the Togolese parliament will strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese NPC and add new impetus to bilateral friendship.
