Elegance is the only beauty that never fades, and the age is merely a number. Many people are familiar with this concept, while seldom can achieve it. Recently, a group of grandmothers from Wuhan, central China’s Hubei province, win applause from audience through their elegant and energetic show.
Among these charming 100 models with an average age of 55, the eldest is 72 years old. Wearing 25-cm high heels, they are like supermodels shining at the fashion week.
Sixty-two-year-old Li Xun, who is used to be a civil servant, has performed as a model at the shows for six years since her retirement. To keep fit, Li and her friends went on a strict diet for three months before the show. They also maintained healthy physical conditions by running and doing yoga every day.
Wearing the 25-cm-high heels, these ladies walked nearly three hours a day to guarantee the success of the catwalk. The long-term training have worn their insteps and given them blisters, but everyone enjoyed the fruitful achievements after sweating.
Li’s enthusiasm has gained firm support from her family members. Her parents often watched her videos and praised her, and her daughter has hired a nanny to ease Li’s housework burden.
It shows the difference aspects of the Chinese greying generation, and has helped changed people’s stereotypes about Chinese housewives. The audience burst into thunderous applause when the senior models appeared at the end of stage.
Their next stop is London Fashion Week and these old grannies are confident they will stun international audiences with their fashionable and vigorous state of body and mind.
